   The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a major change to the Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 examination. The DBT-BET (Biotechnology) examination will now be merged with CSIR-UGC NET Life Sciences, effective from the December 2026 examination cycle.

Following the merger, a new discipline titled Life Sciences & Bio-technology (LS & BT) has been introduced.

**DBT-BET Merged With CSIR-UGC NET Life Sciences**

Under the revised structure, DBT-BET Biotechnology will no longer be conducted separately from the December 2026 cycle. Biotechnology and Life Sciences will instead be covered under the newly introduced LS & BT discipline.

Candidates preparing for the upcoming examination should carefully review the revised syllabus and examination structure before starting their preparation. The updated syllabus is available in the CSIR Information Bulletin, and candidates are advised to go through the details carefully.
